Davinia and Carmen proudly represented Hatfield Cultural Connection CIC by volunteering their time to support World Food Day at Onslow and St Audery’s School. The event, organised by teacher Tiffaney Palmer as part of the school’s Culture Week, brought together students, and staff in a celebration of food and culture.

Students and staff proudly brought in cultural dishes representing a wide range of countries, including South Africa, Nigeria, Jamaica, England, Trinidad and Tobago, India, Tanzania, the United States, Saudi Arabia, France, Ghana, Italy, and Kenya. Students had tickets to sample foods from different cultures, expanding both their palates and their understanding of one another’s backgrounds.

It was such an enjoyable day; students were polite, engaged, and genuinely curious about trying new foods. It was particularly impressive to see students prepping the dishes themselves, demonstrating a real effort and pride in sharing their heritage.

The event was fantastic! A celebration not just of food, but of unity and respect, an achievement that reflects great credit on Tiffaney’s organisation and the students’ enthusiasm; she should feel extremely proud of how the day went.
