You may be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, depending on the nature of your role.
Under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (as amended), you are not required to disclose any convictions that are ‘spent’ (i.e. no longer relevant for disclosure purposes). However, you must declare any unspent convictions, as well as any bind-overs, cautions, warnings or reprimands that are not protected under the legislation.
