The team at Hatfield Cultural Connection CIC is excited to host the third annual Black History Month Cultural Pop-Up Market and Workshop Weekend, in partnership with The Galleria Hatfield, on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th October 2025.

Organised by Davinia, Carmen, Alison, and Simon, along with a fantastic team of volunteers, the event continues to grow each year. United by a shared purpose, the team works hard to uplift, celebrate, and strengthen the community through their events.

This year’s special exhibition, “Duty and Honour,” sponsored by Arise Hatfield celebrates the achievements and contributions of African and Caribbean people who have served, are serving, or are training in the Armed Forces, recognising their often-overlooked role in shaping history and inspiring the next generation.

The theme also marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, and ties in with Black History Month’s national theme, “Standing Firm in Honour and Pride.”

Thanks to the support from Arise Hatfield , this exhibition will be available on loan to local schools in Hatfield, helping to make sure these experiences are highlighted.

At the event you can can also check out Black History Month UK's 2025 Exhibition showcasing this years theme "Standing Theme in Honour and Pride" at the event. "It is a powerful tribute to the resilience, strength, and unwavering commitment to progress that defines the Black community across the globe."

This celebrates the incredible influence of Black visionaries, changemakers, and pioneers throughout history, and looks ahead to a future built on strength, solidarity, and growth

Visitors can enjoy a unique weekend of black owned market stalls, local services, performances, workshops, exhibitions, and family activities.

The event also raises awareness of endometriosis, a chronic condition affecting 1 in 10 women. For organiser Davinia, the issue is deeply personal; she continues to advocate for better understanding and support, particularly for black women, who are often diagnosed later or misdiagnosed due to systemic barriers in healthcare.

Endometriosis UK will be at the event to offer information, support, and guidance to anyone seeking help.

“It’s an honour to see how this event has grown each year,” said Davinia of Hatfield Cultural Connection CIC. “We’re proud to create a space where the community can come together to celebrate heritage, empower each other, and raise awareness for important causes.”

The Team invite you to attend and participate in what is planned to be a fantastic weekend.
